I have diligently followed the instructions from Apple and also scattered all over the web, that if you have Apple Pay, but do not want it to show up in your Safari browser, you just turn if off in Safari settings/privacy.

Except that does not work for everyone, including me. It’s not in Safari settings; not in System Settings; in fact, it’s not on your Mac anywhere! 

HERE is how to turn it off.

Open settings on your (ahem) iPhone (boy! what a stupid decision on Apple’s part) and search for “wallet”.  Click on “Wallet and Apple Pay”. Then, scroll down to and turn off “Allow payments on Mac.”

TA-DA!
