{"id":355,"date":"2021-05-08T21:55:35","date_gmt":"2021-05-08T21:55:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.valleau.art\/blog\/?p=355"},"modified":"2021-05-08T21:55:35","modified_gmt":"2021-05-08T21:55:35","slug":"filter-out-some-spam-right-at-the-source","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/valleau.art\/blog\/filter-out-some-spam-right-at-the-source\/","title":{"rendered":"filter out some spam right at the source !"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This may or may not apply to you, but if it does, there&#8217;s a quick way to filter out a bucketload of spam.<\/p>\n<p>Spam can be sent to an address that looks like this:<\/p>\n<p>dlsi.biz@proxy.dreamhost.com or valleau.gallery@proxy.dreamhost.com<\/p>\n<p>instead of yourname@address.com (ie myname@dlsi.biz)<\/p>\n<p>That is something in the form of \u00a0&#8220;address.com@proxy.yourISP.net&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>What&#8217;s happened here is that the website has been placed in front of the proxy at my ISP.<\/p>\n<p>Yours may look like amug.org@proxy.cox.net.<\/p>\n<p>Well: no one I want contacting me uses that kind of address. Ipso &#8211; if the address contains &#8220;@proxy.myisp.net&#8221; I have set up a black list to just dump those emails. I never see them.
