I have cable internet from Xfinity (aka Comcast).<\/p>\n
Mine is a two-piece setup: a modem and a wifi\/router.I have my own Bitsurfr DOCIS 3.1 modem and an Archer AX90 (TP-Link 6600) wifi 6 router.<\/p>\n
To reset my system properly AND get maximum speed, these are the steps:<\/p>\n
1. turn off BOTH items. Power off the modem AND power off the router.<\/p>\n
2. leave the router OFF and power on the modem.<\/p>\n
3. wait for the modem lights to stop flashing, and display as solid lights (first green, then solid blue, in my case).<\/p>\n
4. once I’m sure the modem is stable, ONLY THEN do I power on the router.<\/p>\n
Failing to follow these exact steps (such as just power-cycling one or the other) will still get me a connection, but at 1\/4 the advertised rate.<\/p>\n
In other words, I get 900 down if I follow these steps, but \u00a0240-ish if I don’t.<\/p>\n
